El sueño colectivo (der kollektive Traum) ist ein
reflexives Projekt, das mit Hilfe von Texten und audiovisuellen
Medien untersucht, wie unsere Körper im Zeitalter
des Postfordismus in öffentlichen Räumen und
privaten Institutionen ökonomisch verwertet werden.
Dieser Verwertungsprozess ist nicht nur eine Konsequenz
der neuen Arbeitsbedingungen, sondern zeitigt auch die
Instrumentalisierung unserer Freizeit, indem diese durch
die Konsumption und Fetischisierung des Begehrens produktiv
gemacht wird: Mit dem Aufgehen des warenförmigen Objekts
im Blick der Wunschmaschinen werden wir verdinglicht und
in den Kreislauf von Konsumption und Passivität eingespeist – verführt
durch die Süße des, um mit Benjamin zu sprechen, ‚kollektiven
Traums’, der uns paralysiert und sämtliche Antagonismen
und Differenzen unter dem Deckmantel der scheinbaren Homogenität ödipalen
Begehrens, stereotyper Schönheit, konventionalisierter
Freizeit oder des althergebrachten Kanons verbirgt. Die
Forschungsstrategie, die wir unter dem Titel „Narrative
der Arbeit“ verfolgen, zielt, ausgehend von einer
Revision des Konzepts ‚Archiv’, auf die analytische
Demontage von Wissensbegriff und Erzählstruktur, indem
am Modell einer Geschichte, die sich der Figuren der Metapher
und Metonymie bedient, audiovisuelle Hypertexte konstruiert
werden. Metapher und Metonymie fungieren hier als zwei
gängige Formen der Dislozierung und Resignation, die
uns in die Lage versetzen, die Arbeit an der Konstruktion
eines möglichen Imaginären der neuen Arbeiterklasse
aufzunehmen und zugleich den Wandel im Begriff der Arbeit,
die Konstruktion einer Geschichte der Arbeit und die öffentlichen
Bilder der Arbeiterklasse zu reflektieren. Zu diesem Zweck
müssen wir den Status der Bilder als Dokumente (vom
höchst fragwürdigen Standpunkt der Objektivität
aus) sowie die entsprechenden Dispositive der Legitimation,
der Wahrheit und der Konstruktion von Geschichte überdenken.

El sueño colectivo (the collective dream) is a reflective
project that uses text and audiovisual material to address
ways in which our bodies are transformed into economic value
in public spaces and private institutions in post-fordist late
capitalism. This transformation is not only a result of new
working conditions, but also the instrumentalization of our
leisure time, converted into production through the consumption
and fetishization of desire: with the merging of market-objects
and the gaze of the desiring-machines we are reified and fed
back into the cycle of consumption and passivity with the sweetness
of, in the words of Benjamin, the "collective dream" that
paralyzes us and hides antagonisms and differences under the
apparent homogeneity of oedipal desire, of stereotypical beauty,
of the familiar canon, of conventional leisure. The objective
of the process of investigation that we follow under the name
of The Work Narratives, is to dismount the idea of knowledge
and the structure of narrative from the starting point of a
revision of the concept of archive, and to construct audiovisual
hyper-texts on the model of a tale that uses metaphor and metonymy,
that is to say, two common ways of displacement and resignation,
to be able to dig into the construction of a possible imaginary
of this new working class, and in parallel to reflect changes
in the concept of labour, the construction of the history of
labour, and the images of the working class. For this, we must
rethink the image itself as document (from the very dubious
point of "objectivity"), and the same dispositives
of legitimation, of truth, and of the construction of history.
